Active Member Workshops

Want to learn more about the retirement system or the pre-retirement process?

Upcoming opportunities to attend a live presentation are listed below. Or, you can view a prerecorded session.

Fall 2018 Pre-Retirement Workshops

The Montana Federation of Public Employees (formerly MEA-MFT) schedules pre-retirement workshops each fall in several communities, and TRS conducts its Ready-Set-Retire presentation at these events. This year, MFPE has scheduled workshops in the following locations:

  • September 27, 2018 – Havre High School auditorium
  • October 4, 2018 – Helena Middle School auditorium
  • October 9, 2018 – Butte High School commons
  • October 10, 2018 – Corvallis High School library
  • November 7, 2018 – Poplar High School auditorium

Each event is scheduled from 4:30 to 6:30 pm. Questions about the schedule or format of workshops should be directed to MFPE (you can access their flyer here).

October 18-19, 2018 – MFPE Educator Conference, Billings

TRS members who plan to attend the 2018 Educator Conference will have two opportunities to see our Ready-Set-Retire presentation at the conference.

NEW for 2018 – We'll offer an introductory 'TRS 101' presentation for those who simply want to learn more about the retirement system. And, another presentation on My TRS will explain how to view account details and update beneficiaries online. We hope to see you there!

  • Note: To attend the Educator Conference, you must register on the MFPE website.

Unable to attend a live session? We invite you to watch the video from a January 2018 "Ready-Set-Retire" presentation in Helena. (This link accesses the TRS YouTube channel.) The slides from the presentation also are available here (pdf).
